How do you deal with the toll this takes on your body?
I had a Herman Miller Aeron for awhile and had a hunch it was making things worse. Leg pain, back pain. Finally said screw it and tried a Steelcase Gesture and oh my god it was like night and day. Maybe try to switch it up. You have the cash and there is no better investment than in things between y

Herman Miller Aeron sucks for aiming!
I’ve used both the Aeron and the Herman Miller x Logitech embody for a few years and the embody clears it. Most comfortable chair and it’s not close.

Show Me Your WFH Office Chair!
Steelcase Leap. The Gesture, which is very similar (but not as nice-looking) is also great. Here is The Wirecutter's review. These are much better than the Aeron, in my opinion. The Aeron, while icon, is all plastic and is nowhere near as snug or warm as the Steelcase models. Also, Steelcase is abou

Herman what? #Secretlab
Everyone is different. I had a Herman Miller Aeron and it was one of my least favorite chairs. I love my Haworth I have at my work office, but I find that the Secret Lab chair in my home office is pretty comfy too.

Is this gap "within tolerance" for a $2,400 Anthros chair? Would you be ok with this?
Comparing Anthros to Herman Miller is apples and oranges. HM is fully design-focused. I expect their products to have the high-end design aesthetics and tight production tolerances befitting their history and reputation, while also being ergonomic in the case of office chairs (though I absolutely ha

Secretlabs sent me someone else’s returned product. All parts missing. Chair stinks
You're better off putting the exact same money toward an ergonomic chair, brother. SecretLabs is a shady fuckin company. I had a Secretlabs Titan XL for a year. Stiff as a rock no matter what, and the shape of the chair will severely fuck your lower back because there's barely any supporting materia

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie?
Man, I’m an electrician and a few years ago my company was subcontracted to remodel an office building, and when the company moved out they left all of the chairs. There were like 110 office chairs, and about half were Herman Miller Aerons. The GC was throwing them in the dumpster, and told us we co

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie?
I just went to a fancy store and tried out all the classic ones. Nothing beats actually sitting in it and trying the adjustments! I wasn't exactly planning to get the most expensive one (Herman Miller Embody), but it felt the best. The Aeron actually felt pretty bad to me. My second choice would hav

Looking for Authentication Advice?
It appears to be a “Herman Miller Aluminum Group Soft Pad Executive chair.” If the story is true, it’s “real” as I’m only aware of very recently made replicas. I personally aspire to have one of these- I sat in one at the HM showroom and it’s the most comfortable office chair I’ve ever felt, includi
