Herman Miller Aeron sucks for aiming!
I’ve used both the Aeron and the Herman Miller x Logitech embody for a few years and the embody clears it. Most comfortable chair and it’s not close.

How do you deal with the toll this takes on your body?
I had a Herman Miller Aeron for awhile and had a hunch it was making things worse. Leg pain, back pain. Finally said screw it and tried a Steelcase Gesture and oh my god it was like night and day. Maybe try to switch it up. You have the cash and there is no better investment than in things between y

Show Me Your WFH Office Chair!
Steelcase Leap. The Gesture, which is very similar (but not as nice-looking) is also great. Here is The Wirecutter's review. These are much better than the Aeron, in my opinion. The Aeron, while icon, is all plastic and is nowhere near as snug or warm as the Steelcase models. Also, Steelcase is abou

What desk chairs do you use?
I highly, highly recommend looking up local dealers of high-end office chairs (herman miller, steelcase, etc.) and going and sitting in them IN PERSON before deciding. There are a lot of great chairs that may not be great for you. The HM aeron is very popular, but I hated it because the hard seat pa

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie?
Man, I’m an electrician and a few years ago my company was subcontracted to remodel an office building, and when the company moved out they left all of the chairs. There were like 110 office chairs, and about half were Herman Miller Aerons. The GC was throwing them in the dumpster, and told us we co

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie?
I just went to a fancy store and tried out all the classic ones. Nothing beats actually sitting in it and trying the adjustments! I wasn't exactly planning to get the most expensive one (Herman Miller Embody), but it felt the best. The Aeron actually felt pretty bad to me. My second choice would hav

Need a better chair. Any suggestions?
A used steel case leap chair and a standing desk will help a ton. I had a Herman Miller aeron and the leap is much more padded and comfortable imo.

Best Chair Attributes you look for as an Editor
Everyone is different. Personally, I do not find the Aeron comfortable. I use a Logitech x Herman Miller Embody. Previously I was using an Autonomous ErgoChair v1.

Are premium chairs atill worth it if you're not buying Herman Miller or Steelcase?
Tbh as someone who bought an Aeron a few years ago... it's overhyped. Built like a tank, sure, but the rigid mesh frame kills me if I try to sit cross-legged. I'm a bigger guy and actually cross-shopped the Colamy Atlas and the LiberNovo Maxis recently. Ended up leaning toward the Maxis because the
