What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie?
+1 on a good quality computer chair that fits YOUR needs vs just an expensive chair is the key. I did months of research and settled on a Haworth Fern. Best $1500 I’ve ever spent. Granted, no chair in the world is going to be comfortable after so many hours of sitting, but having the right adjustmen

Painter here looking for chair recs for tailbone pain
You're looking for a chair with a "forward tilt" mechanism for drawing/drafting. Herman Miller and Haworth both have this as an optional add-on in their chairs, you can check chairs like the Aeron or Fern. The Fern has a softer pad, the Aeron is a mesh. Additionally the Steelcase Gesture has a sligh

Recommendation ergonomic chair for animator
In this scenario I actually dont recommend the leap. Instead I would look for a Haworth Fern. You might be able to find a good deal on one with forward tilt. Seeing as how your cintiq (guessing because it looks like a wacom cintiq pro 24)is at the distance you're sitting you have the option of if yo

Desk Ergonomics
I have a Haworth Fern with extended barrel/riser. I like it, HOWEVER, I would never pay what they want for them. The agency I work for has a rather strong workplace safety/ergonomics team and got the chair for me for me.

Got a Steelcase Gesture like new from an office supply store for 600, but i’m not loving it…
Here's the issue: Gesture is not a suitable chair for your height.... Im 6'3 it doesn't fit me right, you're even taller. Gesture is a very upright position, it actually has a slight forward tilt. When you slide the seat pad all the way forward, you end up sitting at the back of the bowl, you feel l

Is the Steelcast v2 really the most comfortable office chair?
It's not just about initially perceived comfort. It's about long term support, which reduces fatigue. You can buy any number of overly plush executive chairs from Amazon and big box stores that feel like sitting on pillows at first, but get very uncomfortable over extended sessions (pressure points,

The Steelcase Leap V2 destroys your ass.
An ergonomic chair is like a shoe. It has to custom-fit your body. What feels amazing for someone else, doesn't necessarily feel amazing for you. Steelcase Leap is one of the most customizable chairs on the market to fit a wide range of users, but that doesn't mean it fits everyones body and sitting

The Lord of the Rings gaming chairs are here: real photos and details of each model
But not all cases are the same. I also own a Herman Miller Aeron and a Haworth Fern, but I've also been using a fabric Titan Evo since 2020 and have put many hours into it. Every anatomy is different, but everyone I know who owns a "gaming" chair has had them for years. You can't generalize, and I'm

Best desk chair for 10+ hours AND accommodates multiple seated positions
I have the haworth fern chair and it works great. You can make a lot of adjustments to posture, arm rests, height, etc. They are pricey at about $1000, but if you have an active FB marketplace, there might be some in new/almost new condition (I looked there but ended up buying from the Haworth websi

Selling my Embody as I can’t get on with it
The Steelcase Leap V2 b2 IMHO has the best seat in the industry, the arms are good enough, but the backs are crap. The Haworth Fern has a very thick padded seat, not the most supportive. Almost feels like something from a boat, but it does fit my very long legs well and the high back is great for my
