Can a Legion Go S SteamOS handle U5 games well?
Many U5 games run poorly on every single handheld, even the new ones that cost a fortune. It depends on the game, but many of them are unoptimized garbage that struggle even on a 4060, which is about the max performance you can get out of a handheld (gpd Win5 for $1800).

The most intuitive size comparison, yet it hides a 2–3x performance gap.
By the logic of this pic, my Casio solar-powered pocket calculator is infinitely better performing than the GPD Win5, and a fraction of the Win 5's size. See how silly this comparison is, @kendyzhu?

You know what I think I'll wait for this one instead.
You have to be a bit more specific though. 60fps on Wukong is not the same as 60fps on Hades. Will you get 60 on Wukong, no. Not even the GPD Win5 can get 60 on that game with high settings. Most games you will get a respectable FPS, but no, you won’t get 60fps on all games. Muuuuuuuch less at the n

Upgrading from launch Rog Ally z1e and not sure which route to go for use-case
Just get the new ally, the quality is great and the ergonomics are a game changer. Plus with the ai support coming itll perform better once amd starts utilizing it. As someone that got a gpd win 5 and got my wife the xbx allyx I sometimes have buyers remorse when I hold her ally, the performance isn

Should I upgrade my GPU?
This is what really bums me out so much. GPD discontinued the Oculink port because apparently not enough people adopted it. Duh. When your competitors offer the same EGPU but with a built in 2280 slot for cheaper and ya don't release anything stronger or a DIY obviously people aren't going to adopt

The Aya Neo Next II
It is big as hell. The chip, Ryzen ai 395, is not meant for handhelds. Tons of cooling and a massive battery. The WinGPD 5 doesn't even bother with an internal battery, cutting down in size. https://www.gpd-minipc.com/products/gpd-win5

Final thoughts on the GPD Win 5 (after using it for over a month)
I just got myself the Xbox Ally X when it launched in Oct since I thought the GPD Win 5 would never be available for retail in my country and it would be too expensive to import. A few days ago my local retailer just posted that they have it available in stock (32GB model) for around the equivalent

My Legion Go Keeps Crashing Games, and I’m Fed Up
If you’ve been a pc gamer for longer than these new powerhouses then you would know lol. Pc gaming was always a pain 20 years ago, and still can be if you don’t buy the latest and greatest. Just a matter of changing settings though. Also this doesn’t have a dedicated gpu. It’s so tiny we aren’t ther

Intel wants to become the go-to vendor for handheld hardware as it mocks "ancient" AMD processors
Go check out the GPD Win5 and OneX Apex discords. There's plenty of benchmarks that show the performance gain on the 395 above 55w is minimal
