Why are people disconnecting or destroying their Ring cameras?

That was a Google nest camera, not a ring one. Nest cameras record like an hour or something if you don't have the subscription. They had to do some crazy data recovery to get the footage too.

Why are people disconnecting or destroying their Ring cameras?

They also granted backdoor access to FLOCK and have since reportedly cut ties. But they also work with over 5,000 government enforcement agencies- which is to say I think they will continue to do so- but just quietly. And the recent info that’s come to light about security footage of the Nancy Guthr

I purchased a smart device 3 years ago. An update moved it to a paid subscription model, and now I can't access 80% of the features. I asked for a refund, and was threatened with legal action.

I was nudged into this when Google discontinued support of my original Nest (pre-Google) thermostat, re

Migrate Nest Cameras to HomeKit Cameras

I just replaced my whole nest camera system (doorbell, 3 indoor cameras, an outdoor camera) with the Aqara g410 doorbell and g100 indoor/outdoor cameras. Everything works great, just make sure you update the firmware for each device after getting them up and running (had an issue with night vision o

Anyone switched from Nest/Google cameras to Eufy or vice-versa?

I have moved to Eufy. Three things made me switch. Google updated all of my Nest cameras and doorbell cam to where the footage was artificially lightened. The footage, especially at twilight was not great and there was no way to roll back the updates. The move to the Home app. The Nest app was great
