Why are people disconnecting or destroying their Ring cameras?
That was a Google nest camera, not a ring one. Nest cameras record like an hour or something if you don't have the subscription. They had to do some crazy data recovery to get the footage too.

Why are people disconnecting or destroying their Ring cameras?
They also granted backdoor access to FLOCK and have since reportedly cut ties. But they also work with over 5,000 government enforcement agencies- which is to say I think they will continue to do so- but just quietly. And the recent info that’s come to light about security footage of the Nancy Guthr

I purchased a smart device 3 years ago. An update moved it to a paid subscription model, and now I can't access 80% of the features. I asked for a refund, and was threatened with legal action.
Google did the exact same thing when they took over the Nest cameras. I spent close to £1k on cameras and suddenly half the features don’t work unless you pay them a monthly fee. Lesson learnt the hard way. Now I will not buy anything requiring the cloud. Either it works standalone or can be made to

I don’t believe in ghosts or poltergeists, but can somebody help me make sense of this?
I use Google Nest cameras all around my house. They're easy to set up and they're cheap. Good video quality too. You can get them at Walmart.

Our camera caught two of the bomb booms
Nest is no better for privacy from what I understand. I have nest cameras myself and am regretting it. I mean it works in terms of being a camera. but I also don’t like what I’ve found out in terms of privacy and that Google can share footage with LE without warrants and stuff. Including indoor came

Reolink wireless any good?
I have eufy, reolink, blink and a google nest camera Most of my reolink cameras are POE, but I do have two indoor Wifi ones. I see no difference in the two, the flexibility and configuration options are miles ahead of Eufy and Nest that keep things dumbed down. Access to the live feed is instant rat

Anybody else just given up on Simpli Safe and it’s constantly failing products?
We've had Simplisafe for 7 years -- only issue we've had was around 6 years ago where one of the motion sensors gave false alarms around 3:30am, ugh! I contacted Simplisafe about that since that happened twice in one week. They sent a replacement sensor to us for free. Zero issues since then 😎 For i

Doorbell Camera recommendation
whatever you do, don't get a google nest camera. the wired ones have an unreplaceable internal battery that will fail after 2-3 years (unless they corrected this design flaw in the recent generation).

My Nest camera cannot connect after migrating to Google Home.
Same process, different cams (3 of the indoor with battery), same crappy outcome. * All feeds died on Google Home a few days ago (which has been running fine for a few years since transitioning from Nest)* Wiped/started from scratch on one of the cameras* Google Home recognized the "new" camera, got i

Is Google going to support Nest cameras long term?
I've had nest cams for years. Never had an issue with them once. That said, I do have some other brand cameras too for different purposes. For example, I have a few 2k tapo cameras to monitor some indoor stuff because I wanted the rotation capability. I can access them from my Google Home app as wel
