Doorbell Camera recommendation
whatever you do, don't get a google nest camera. the wired ones have an unreplaceable internal battery that will fail after 2-3 years (unless they corrected this design flaw in the recent generation).

My Nest camera cannot connect after migrating to Google Home.
Same process, different cams (3 of the indoor with battery), same crappy outcome. * All feeds died on Google Home a few days ago (which has been running fine for a few years since transitioning from Nest)* Wiped/started from scratch on one of the cameras* Google Home recognized the "new" camera, got i

Those of you who bought the Nest Cam Outdoor (Battery) - do you regret it?
This is my issue too. It won’t hold a charge at all. I can’t get it to turn on at all. Meanwhile, the pre-google Nest cameras I bought 10 years ago are still going strong.

Goodbye, pos. Hello, stuff that works without a cloud subscription :)
Problem for me with Nest cameras are the newer ones. I upgraded from a Nest Hello to a Nest gen 2 doorbell and also from the Nest Indoor IQ to a Nest Indoor gen 2. Both the newer camera and doorbell were frequently going offline. I put back in the IQ and Hello and they’ve been solid with no offline

Migrate Nest Cameras to HomeKit Cameras
I just replaced my whole nest camera system (doorbell, 3 indoor cameras, an outdoor camera) with the Aqara g410 doorbell and g100 indoor/outdoor cameras. Everything works great, just make sure you update the firmware for each device after getting them up and running (had an issue with night vision o
