Seeking Suggestions - Cheap WiFi Router for Home Use?
Does your student dorm allow you to set up your own router using their network? That was not allowed when I was in college, and it's not worth having any issues with your university over WiFi speeds. If you place a router in your dorm room, you're going to have double NAT (bad for gaming) unless you

Is it possible to use a NAS in a dorm
I would recommend getting a travel router like a GL-iNet Beryl AX or even step up to the Slate 7 if you want wifi7. This will allow you to run your own network behind the college network so you have full control of your security. You can set it up with a VPN connection for remote access too.

Cómo sé que logs quedan registrados en el departamento IT de mi empresa (MacOs)
Compra un travel router como el GL.iNet GL-BE3600 e instala tu VPN ahí, y nunca te conectes desde otra red que no sea la del travel router desde el Mac

adguard vpn is it worth it?
Their VPN app includes the excellent AdGuard Private DNS for free. They currently have a great deal if you buy AdGuard Family and AdGuard VPN. If you have already bought AdGuard Family, get the 5 year plan for AdGuard VPN (which also includes AdGuard Private DNS) and use code 'retail30' on checkout

Anyone secretly nomading with their company laptop? What happened?
It isn't that difficult to do if you use the right equipment. I highly recommend GL.iNet routers for doing it. This site does a walk through of it: https://thewirednomad.com/vpn I would use the Flint 2 at home and a Slate 7 or Beryl AX for the travel side. Make sure you setup goodcloud on the router

AmneziaWG on Slate 7 Pro
I have had feedback from Gl.iNet.They state that all routers that support AmneziaWG are v1 except Flint 2 and v4.9 supported routers that use v2.The Slate AX has a bug in the beta firmware where it is generating a v2 config, whereas it should be generating a v1 version. The difference is no S3-4 and

VPN router?
My GL.iNet GL-AXT1800 (Slate AX) router is excellent. It’s billed as travel but permanently on home network. They have a newer one GL.iNet GL-BE3600 (Slate 7) which I’m changing over to.

Having the same issue connecting from Slate 7 Pro to obfuscation on my Slate AX.No issues from Beryl AX to Slate AX, or AmneziaWG on iOS etc. to Slate AX.Strange that The Slate 7 Pro doesn’t accept S3 or S4 or ranges in H1-H4, and even after correcting doesn’t connect.Waiting for an official answer

Best option for VPN gateway for remote network access
GL.iNet GL-BE3600 (Slate 7) Portable Travel Router You can pick them up on Amazon. Then install tailscale on your router, set up / enable routes, then install tailscale on your laptop. Works amazingly well. The puli AX is great if you want a cellular connection.

Mevo slow local network speed
So glad. With the Slate 7’s, and newer GL.iNet routers - the Network Acceleration helps really well when handling VPN’s and remote access connecting to home router. Makes it much faster connection. But for our purposes, the Network Acceleration sends the data packets in a different “tunnel stream.”
