There are a few brands that use the same "shell" and possibly internals as the GL.iNet Slate AX. Where they differ is the Firmware running on them. But for that price.... um tell 'em they're dreaming...

No updates for GL.iNet Slate AX

Gl iNet drop support for routers all the time and prematurely at that. They say updates are coming, but truth is it’s on the back burner, and the Slate 7 is out so basically it’s the Slate 7 and Beryl AX that are top of the tree and get the updates. The Slate AX is basically obsolete.

How much did WireGuard slow your speed? Using BerylAX for client/server

If you are struggling I recommend either contacting RemoteToHome (https://remotetohome.io/twn) or opening a support ticket with GL.iNet. To be honest, when I used to do consultations I never once helped someone with a Slate Plus. It was all Beryl AX or Slate AX. Maybe RTH has, but it’s an old router

Slate 6 gets hot fast

YES. I’ve had my Slate AX for a year now and I’ve been getting an occasional burning plastic smell from it for the last month or two. The top gets very hot. GL.iNet support had me disassemble it and send photos, but we were unable to figure out what exactly the problem is. The fan works and there’s

Slate 7 disable private information on the screen?

So I just got mine today (fedex sat on it since Sunday) and I was thinking the same thing! Like, I can see it being nice to say enable/disable the networking details or "enable for 5 minutes" so you can let family/friends/kids/etc. easily connect but I don't want it always available for anyone that

VPN / speed / quality

The Mac's CPU is likely vastly better than the Slate AX or any router CPU for that matter. Plus, I'm not sure if you're also using the Repeater on the Slate AX but that will severely decrease throughput as well being wireless. More imporantly, why so much latency? How far away are you from the serve

Slate Plus while traveling

For years I carried an Original Slate (AR750S) around the world, but this year I switched to something smaller. I find that the newer GL iNet routers, like the Beryl AX, Slate Plus, Slate AX, and especially the Slate 7 are just too big and heavy to use as travel routers. I still use a couple AR300M
