Right now the best option is the GL iNet GL-XE3000 "Puli AX". The big win for this unit is the battery and the multiple WAN ports with a built in load balancer. Plus you can run both external and internal antennas for the LAN and WAN.

Until glinet finally releases a portable 5G-solution, I Would their Puli AX fill that niche? It's a x3000 with a battery. This. And… I actually asked this very same question of some others recently. I also asked GL.iNet Staff and got varying answers. I think it 100% depends on the usage environment and purpose. I use the Slate 7 as an outdoor router to setup an outdoor powered WiFi stretching across baseball and soccer
