Need help setting up home IP while traveling (Slate 7 + NordVPN) willing to pay

If you want to use your actual home IP address while travelling, then yes, you'll need a server device at your home. You can then connect remotely from the Slate 7 using multiple methods - traditional VPN (Wireguard or OVPN), or virtual networks (Tailscale, ZeroTier, or AstroWarp) Which of these you

Is the GL.iNet Mudi 7 better than the Slate 7? Any info on release date / price? 🤔

The UTR works like the Gl-iNet - Allows rebroadcasting a Wifi Network as your own, you can use their VPN services (currently only WireGuard and their Gateway specific Teleport). I am not getting one despite being a Unifi user is because of the Wifi 5 and the Beryl 7 coming out around the corner.

How good is UTR?

I would say that it's probably not worth the upgrade if you already have a Beryl AX. The Beryl 7 offers significantly better VPN performance, but it's not going to make a difference if you generally connect to crappy hotel WiFi networks. Mostly I bought it because GL.iNet gave me a Beryl 7 plushie a

Beryl 7 + Flint 2 Tailscale setup

Update: Fixed! Solution - Go into the "Advanced Settings" of the Beryl 7 Admin Panel, enable it, then log into the LuCI Page. Then go to "Network" -> "Firewall" -> Enable "Masquerading" and set "Forward" to "Accept" for "tailscale0" Yeah so the TLDR here is that Gli.Net didnt bother to implement TS'

Beryl 7 vs slate 7. The best for travel router?

The answer is it depends on your use case. Based on what you wrote that it’s for hotel use / WiFi sharing - that alone would lean more towards the Slate 7 since it has the awesome LCD screen for WiFi QR code sharing and managing basic connectivity without having to login to the web-UI or use the app

UTR Deployment to Users

To be honest, if you're going to give them to C-Suite users, you'll probably want something you can remotely manage and has a little more power (both in performance and Wi-Fi strength), just to CYA. They won't be able to Teleport VPN but can still Wireguard VPN to a UniFi Gateway. Check out GL.iNet'

Roku or Firestick or ? For traveling and watching Plex on hotel TVs that don't support casting?

I'm little late to the conversation but I always recommend to get a travel router before connecting anything to the hotel wifi. First connect the travel router to the hotel wifi and connect all your devices thru your travel router. Also, configure your travel router as your vpn client that way all d

The UTR ‘craze’ has been fascinating to observe

I bought a Beryl 7 from GL.iNet but if security is a concern (GL.iNet is Hongkong and China) the Beryl AX can be reflashed to run native OpenWRT. Beryl 7 support might be a while but is what I’m hoping for. The UTR looks like it’s good for short bursts but gets hot with long term use.. and UTR is mo

How do I use VPN for Nintendo Switch P2P gaming?

What you want is Tailscale, and probably a GL.iNet Beryl 7 or similar to be the router/client. Your friend/ family with a non CGNAT ISP will need to be on the same Tailscale network and subnet as you are and advertise as an exit node. I would suggest putting a GL.iNet Brume 2 device on their network
