Set it up in my hotel room. Compared to my trusty Beryl AX, it’s cuter and squishier. However, I couldn’t get it to work. I think GL.iNet should hold off on releasing this product for a bit. (Seriously though, whoever came up with the idea of making these is a genius. I love it and I want to collect

From PERSONAL experience trying these devices, yes, I can say that the Mudi 7 is a significantly better product. I have PERSONALLY used WiFi 7 on a certain device while traveling. You seem to think that the only time it is used on hotel WiFi. What about coworking spaces where you can use RJ-45? Some

It really depends on your use case. If you are using it as a travel router with < 300Mbps VPN speeds, then the AX is fine. Most hotels I use have very limited internet speeds 12-20Mbps so any router more powerful would be a waste unless there are other factors. If you are setting up a site to site V

The TP-Link is Broadcom, TR3600 too, according to the official page. Those two are dead ends. The GL.iNet seems to be MT based: https://forum.gl-inet.com/t/beryl-7-gl-mt3600be/64350. There's also a GL-BE3600, using a Qualcomm SoC - https://www.gl-inet.com/products/gl-be3600/.

I ordered one, but I don't need one and got caught up in the FOMO this morning. I've been happy my GL.iNet travel routers (750v2 and Beryl 6). GL.iNet is launching new products at CES next month including the Mudi 7 and Beryl 7 with WiFi 7 support. Might have to pick those up too. :-)

If you want to use your actual home IP address while travelling, then yes, you'll need a server device at your home. You can then connect remotely from the Slate 7 using multiple methods - traditional VPN (Wireguard or OVPN), or virtual networks (Tailscale, ZeroTier, or AstroWarp) Which of these you

Sounds like you want a GL.iNet router. Their Beryl 7 just came out, too!

The UTR works like the Gl-iNet - Allows rebroadcasting a Wifi Network as your own, you can use their VPN services (currently only WireGuard and their Gateway specific Teleport). I am not getting one despite being a Unifi user is because of the Wifi 5 and the Beryl 7 coming out around the corner.

Update: Fixed! Solution - Go into the "Advanced Settings" of the Beryl 7 Admin Panel, enable it, then log into the LuCI Page. Then go to "Network" -> "Firewall" -> Enable "Masquerading" and set "Forward" to "Accept" for "tailscale0" Yeah so the TLDR here is that Gli.Net didnt bother to implement TS'

The Beryl (MT models) uses MediaTek. So I guess the GL.iNet Beryl 7 will get OpenWRT support first...
