Flint 3
Bad news, the Flint 3 is Broadcom based, not compatible with OpenWRT and probably will never be. The Flint 2 is MediaTek based and it works great. You still can use it with GL.iNet firmware, tho. EDIT: It's Qualcomm as pointed out. Still, no support for OpenWRT as of now.

Current highest spec router that supports OpenWRT H/W NAT offloading?
BPI-R4 (MT7988), most powerful but not recommended for Wi-Fi due to Wi-Fi NIC issues. GL.iNET Flint 2 (MT7986), currently best supported device for Wi-Fi. BPI-R3 (MT7986), like Flint 2 but with SFP. Flint 2's Wi-Fi will be better though as it is not a dev board. Flint 3 (Qualcomm IPQ 53xx), for Wi-F

Cudy TR3000 is not bad 🛜
...Very satisfied at this $42 price point, especially compared to the GL.iNet Wi-Fi 6 router priced at $120. The GL-MT6000 perhaps, the GL-MT3000 (which matches the TR3000) shouldn't be more than $80, still hefty compared to the $42 you paid for the TR3000. GL-MT3000 does however have better cooling

T-Mobile 5G is useless for gaming without SQM
Yeah, I added SQM to my GL.iNet Flint 2 and Flint 3 routers. It's necessary to game on cellular gateways. Edit: who's down voting support for SQM? Why? If you have a better way, please enlighten us. If you simply disagree, have you tried it? Do you automatically assume cellular isn't worthy of gamin

TP-Link routers could be banned in the US over national security concerns | TP-Link has around 65pct of the US market for routers
The GL.iNet Flint 2 comes pre-loaded with OpenWRT. Got mine a month ago, works great. They are based in Hong Kong though.

MT76 Development for Flint 2?
Flint 2 has FEMs (front-end modules) that sit in between the Wi-Fi radios and the antennas to boost range. The mt76 driver supports these FEMs which allows maximum legal TX power for most countries on the Flint 2, but the MTK driver/OEM firmware will often boost the signal using the FEMs to above th

"Best" consumer router under $200?
Modem: DOCSIS 3.1 that supports Comcast Xfinity mid-split. Arris S34, Netgear CM2500 or CM3000, Hitron CODA56 or CODA. Keep the CODAs as last option as they use Puma chipset. Rest of them use Broadcom. Router: If you are comfortable with OpenWrt, then GL.iNet GL-MT6000 Flint 2. DO NOT BUY A MODEM-RO
