I recently upgraded from a built-in Sage grinder to a DF64, and the difference is night and day. The built-in conical burrs tend to produce a muddy flavour profile, making everything taste like a generic, bitter coffee. I have df64 gen2 and I love it. But it's my first espresso grinder tbh, so no direct comparison. I don't find it loud, like compared to blender or vacuum cleaner for example. Even espresso pump is louder. I also love the results I'm getting. I get better tasting shots than in high end specialty coff
