Are Genelecs really worth it?

I recently got a pair of 8040 and they are superb. I have had Adam f5 before and they were great too, but not as good as genelec. The Adam has a really special sound because of that tweeter, but the genelec are little more coherent and accurate, in my opinion.

Genelec 8030b— my second pair of speakers ever!

I always wonder how many people that buy these don't know about the dip switches. Hopefully not many. The other thing no one talks about is how much louder they are than people think. Can easily throw them in most small/medium sized rooms and will have zero issues being loud enough and have almost c

Monitors with similar mid range response as Barefoot Footprint 02

i don't really know many brands in that price range with the quality of the barefoots. If you are looking specifically at 3-way, I recommend looking into these: HEDD Type 20 A-Core or MK2 (probably better than the Adam 8H) Dynaudio LYD 48 Kali SM-8 And if it doesn't have to be 3-way, that opens up m

Klipsch x Euphonia

Hifi speakers are generally voiced or designed for distance listening. Get yourself some decent near field monitors especially since you have a high end digital mixer with those excellent Neve transformers to really appreciate this mixer. I have owned a lot of high end rotary mixers including ARS. T

Tempted to go from Focal shape 65 to Kali IN8V2, please talk me out of it guys

Absolutely agreed on the non-coaxial Genelecs, the 8351s we have are pretty remarkable and smoke the Kalis (as they should for $5k/each), but the Kalis really hold their own against the 8050s and 8040s. And yeah, even working at 80db is a lot for me, 75 is my sweet spot and I feel like the Kalis rea

Genelec 8340a vs Dynaudio LYD-48?

I have a bunch of the speakers from this generation of Genelec. I have the original 8020s and they have lasted forever. My surround system is a mix of 8040 & 8020. 8020s appear to have the same tweeter as the other 80xx models.

upgrading my setup

The 8040 would be the comprable model to the T7V given the woofer size. We have rooms with 8030s, 8040s, T5Vs, and T7Vs at my job. The Adam’s are only in non critical listening areas because they aren’t neutral nor are they as detailed as Genelec. I use the 8030 and a grot box in my room at home. I

Need an advice: Genelec vs Focal vs Neumann

All of those are good value and excellent monitors, choose what fits your budget and what you can find locally. If there's a chance to test some of them before buying go do that but don't worry if you can't test them all. No bad choices here. Personally I've had Genelec 6010 and 8040 monitors and I'

Home audio systems from Europe?

You're going to be drowning in suggestions from audiophiles. I use genelec 8040, active studio monitors. They can do anything all the fancy sound systems can. They are ugly as shit though, but their sound is huge =)
