Genelec 8030b— my second pair of speakers ever!
I always wonder how many people that buy these don't know about the dip switches. Hopefully not many. The other thing no one talks about is how much louder they are than people think. Can easily throw them in most small/medium sized rooms and will have zero issues being loud enough and have almost c

Hifi speakers are generally voiced or designed for distance listening. Get yourself some decent near field monitors especially since you have a high end digital mixer with those excellent Neve transformers to really appreciate this mixer. I have owned a lot of high end rotary mixers including ARS. T

Suggestions for a living room setup
Another consideration is that while Genelec subwoofers are great, especially the SAM models with room correction, they are also quite expensive. Non-SAM speakers like the 8040B can be paired with a subwoofer like a Kali WS-12 that costs 30% of a Genelec 7360A.

iLoud MTM MK2 vs Genelec 8010 — which for a small untreated room?
Get the largest speaker you can afford. Get the 8030 or 8040 if possible. That being said the ilouds have digital room eq correction built in afaik. The genelecs you mentioned don't have that. You need to either spend significantly more on the genelecs to get room correction or buy something like so

Trying to get the most out of my office
You can get pretty good actives in that prize range. I'd consider something like genelec 8030/8040. Genelec has great on-wall mounts for their speaker range as well. Another benefit of 8030 at least is they have a tiny footprint in case you'd ever want them on the desk. They're like half as deep as

Studio Speakers
This is good advice!!!! I had to figure that one out the hard way. Got myself some Genelec 8040B + 7040A only to find out that my room is so terrible that there is hardly any benefit to systems half their size. That being said. I dont regret since they are a longtime investment. But yea before you g

DJing from a Conservatory - best near field speakers?
I have used Classic Genelec near field monitors for years. Currently use the Genelec 8030c in white as they blend into my white lounge walls on their official mic stands which are space saving and can adjusted to any height, which also means you don’t need a large desk to accommodate monitors. They

Studio Monitor Recommendations — Alternatives to the Genelec 8330
Genelec 8330 is a bit small speaker (small sound). I have genelec 8040 (+room eq) and I recommend buying 8340.

15 Years Later - Dream Studio
Totally. Even as a hobby, you may care to listen with accuracy; a good monitor is important for this. Good bass would depend on how low you consider bass? A bigger monitor will be able to reproduce lower frequencies with more accuracy. For instance, we tried the 8050b, which goes down to 32hz and lo
