8 years old 8030a vs new 8010

I own both and can tell you that the improvement is substantial. 8030’s offer much better bass extension and even if you would run them with a subwoofer I would still recommend the 8030’s over 8010. For reference I use the 8010’s in my work-from-home setup, so mainly Teams calls and some low volume

iLoud MTM MK2 vs Genelec 8010 — which for a small untreated room?

Genelec 100%, 1000% Genelec The 8010s are shockingly good for the cost and size, just keep in mind that woofers of that size simply cannot reproduce low end with the accuracy of a larger driver, those speakers only go down to 67hz which means you’re going to notice the lack of low end. Get a good pa

iLoud MTM MK2 vs Genelec 8010 — which for a small untreated room?

Genelec is a whole other League. Since both kinda need a subwoofer for a decent bottom end ( the 8010 will love the 7050, my 8030c does!) the choice is even simpler. Dont get me wrong, iLoud is a nice way of monitoring, it has some low even it has a very small footprint.

best studio monitors

Genelecs are awesome. A pair of 8030 with 7050 sub will run you about $3000

Dry low end recommendation

Get the Genelec sub, its really , really worth the money. But, dont take the smallest, the 7050c is made for the 8020(c) and gives you all you need. I use it with a pair of 8030c and its a whole different sound without. Your small nearfields will sound better, mostly because of the filtering in the

Best subwoofer for Techno in a home studio setup?

I use a Genelec 7050c ( 8") for my 8030c'. Best choice ever 👌🥳

Currently :)

Yep! I mostly listen to those when working. They're the Genelec 8010a monitors. People often opt for the 8030 model monitors for more bass, though!

complete newbie

Genelec cant go wrong, happy 8030c user here ( bought last year, €550/pc ). In my opinion the 'a' is a good unit, newer models are a bit updated ( more power, auto off option i believe and some other settings ) but i really recommend to ad a subwoofer. I use the 7050c, the 5.1 subwoofer and i really

Need an advice: Genelec vs Focal vs Neumann

Can't go wrong with Genelec. I have a surround setup with 8030 in the front and 8010 in the back with 7050 as the sub. 8010 definitely needs a sub but 8030 and 8020 can live without it. Neumann and ADAM should be a fine choice as well, haven't listened to the Focal Alphas.

Kef lsx ii Lt or studio monitors

The 8030s are incredibly accurate speakers. The Kefs are a smidge less accurate but still very accurate. Specifically, the 8030s have a little bit more energy in the treble - like +1db or something, and they don't have any real quirks - there's a small dip the kefs have that the Genelecs don't, but
