8 years old 8030a vs new 8010

I own both and can tell you that the improvement is substantial. 8030’s offer much better bass extension and even if you would run them with a subwoofer I would still recommend the 8030’s over 8010. For reference I use the 8010’s in my work-from-home setup, so mainly Teams calls and some low volume

8 years old 8030a vs new 8010

Genelecs are really reliable and have spare parts and good tech support available if anything fails. 8030a is much better than 8010 I would recommend them highly.

Genelec setup for a small office: 8010+7040 vs 8030 vs 8320+GLM?

So are genelecs. Op should go somewhere and listen the options. That said 8010 vs 8030 are completely different game. As op i would go with 8320 and glm.

Anyone here using Genelec 8010 as home dj monitors? are they good or too small?

Side note: I agree that the style/finish of genelecs looks amazing and at some point I will get the 8030 as 8010 (which I had) does lack bass and I think it will be a struggle to mix music on it. So I replaced them with Adam audio d3v for my desktop speakers which I also use for corporate video prod

iLoud MTM MK2 vs Genelec 8010 — which for a small untreated room?

Replies here are mostly fanboying and probably never actually compared them. I myself was curious to try the small Genelecs and in this school I've had 6 months of hands on experience with both the MTMs and 8010/8020. For 400 don't bother, you won't have faithful mixes without other speakers or head

iLoud MTM MK2 vs Genelec 8010 — which for a small untreated room?

Genelec people will tell you Genelec is good. But 8010 will require a sub to monitor energy below 70Hz iLoud will give a more faithful, closer to full picture sound while Genelec will be more accurate within the narrower spectrum it can reproduce. Pick your poison

iLoud MTM MK2 vs Genelec 8010 — which for a small untreated room?

Because your room is untreated, you should not use MTM type speaker because of its dispersion pattern is bad, though an advantage of MTM design is that it has narrow vertical angle around 1000 Hz, which means that the monitor may naturally produce a reduced desk reflection when placed on stands on a

Need an advice: Genelec vs Focal vs Neumann

It needs to be said that without room treatment and a good measuring mic you won't get correct bass response no matter what. I can only speak for Genelec, I went with 8020 a while ago. They're quite small and well made, and like the others in the range they come with a tiltable iso pod, which is a n

Active speakers with auto standby

Generally probably better than the Edifier R1280 series products, would be their “studio monitor” Edifier MR3 (EAC review, EAC YT review). But unfortunately there’s only analog inputs, and no auto on/off or standby. (And obviously the Bluetooth connection isn’t high quality, as they almost never are

Genelec smallest monitor, low end enough?

Have you heard them? 8010 is like just Genelec tweeters in a multimedia speaker. And those tweeters get painful when you turn them up. You could get HS7 or JBL306 for the same or less, or any number of other 5"-7" speakers that will have better bass, unless you really need Genelec, or the small size
