Garmin vs. Pixel

I love the battery life and sport tracking. I've had Garmin Instinct 2 and 3 and now use an Enduro 3 which is my favorite. I just don't want to deal with how often the pixel watch has to be charged.

Garmin watch backcountry skiing activity

Yep I use a solar instinct 2 and love it. You just have to go into your activities and customize your watch face. TOD, vspd, current elevation, total elevation are my gotos. I've had zero issues with transceivers, and do enjoy the sync Garmin to Strava and gpx. I'm a professional guide.

Fed Up with Instinct 2 GPS - Should I Upgrade to Instinct 3 Tactical?

Apart from contacting Garmin about that i can confirm anyway that Instinct 3 is indeed faster in attaching to gps, saving tracks etc

Inexpensive trail ride tracking apps / computers?

Power meters can cost some coin. The cheapest I found was Sigeyi spider power meter for about $450 and it works great. Power meters will also track cadence but I do find and actual cadence sensor is slightly more accurate. You don't need to commit to an app eco system (Garmin/wahoo/etc) to use cheap

Switching from AWU1 to Instinct 3 (or vice versa). Any regrets regarding data accuracy?

I have Instinct 2X and AWU2. The sleep tracking is way better at Apple Watch. I haven’t gotten any problems regarding gps or HR accuracy on the Instinct! ”Is the data "cleaner" on the Apple side or "more detailed" on the Garmin side?” Yes. Hehe. I believe that the data is cleaner on the Apple side,

Instinct 3… convince me

I have a solar instinct 3 tactical. Personally I found the overall finish and feel of the watch to be off. It feels more like a toy whereas the instinct 2 feels like a tool. It’s hard to articulate, but if you don’t need any specific features in the instinct 3, I would recommend looking at the insti

Best smartwatch for hiking with offline maps under 200 bucks?

Garmin Instinct 2 is around $150-200 and is built for this. Great battery (weeks not days), solid GPS, rugged as hell. Doesn't have full topo maps but has basic breadcrumb navigation which works fine for trail following.

Guidance for watch shopping

If music matters, Garmin is probably the easiest place to start. I use an Instinct 2S so no music on mine, but battery and button controls have been great on trails. For navigation I would think in terms of route files and breadcrumb maps more than Strava segments. Segments are fun, getting home is

Garmin watch

I don't have that one myself, but I have a Garmin instinct 2 smart watch and a Garmin inreach mini satellite communicator, and so far they have both been great in terms or reliability/battery life/usefulness etc... the watch I use every day as a watch/health and fitness tracker, and have done for 2
