I ordered the Forerunner 970 in March. I installed the apps on my phone and used it for a short while. Soon after that I sent it back. The many phone companion apps, the cheap feeling materials and the IMHO complicated menu just wasn't for me. I then bought the Balance 2 and have never looked back.

Heads up: went with Garmin® Forerunner® 970, Premium GPS Running and Triathlon Smartwatch and it already feels way more convenient than carrying my phone on runs. The pacing data and heart rate tracking have been super helpful for staying consistent so far.

From a UI/UX perspective, it’s just very dated and poorly thought out. Sometimes you have to dig through loads of menus to do something basic, and it’s in desperate need of an update.
