Fenix 8 amoled vs solar! Trade?

As someone who's owned a Fenix 3, 5, 6, 7, Tactix 7, Forerunner 735XT, 955, and now has spent time with both the Forerunner 970 and Tactix 8 AMOLED (which I ended up keeping because I've worn a 51mm Garmin for years), I think Reddit tends to overstate the downsides of AMOLED. MIP is awesome, and the

Fenix 8 Pro is useless...

What brought people to Garmin? Battery life, MIP screen (for some), history of updating software for a long period and no monthly subscription. Prices were just a bit more expensive than an apple watch. Fenix 7 pro was the last great watch from Garmin. Hopefully mine will keep working for many years

Fenix 8 AMOLED or Solar

I not no experience with the AMOLED Garmins but I picked up a Fenix 8 51 Solar… no regrets. As someone else said. The back light button deals with low lighting and as for using it in the sun… top tier!

Bon finalement

MIP forever !

Bought my first Garmin in december 2024. It's Garmin Epix Pro gen 2 47mm. In general it's just awesome. But right now I'm thinking of switching it for Enduro 3 in 2026. Cheaper version of F8 Solar, and I don't need diving functionality or speaker/microphone. So in general... Yes probably MIP is more

Garmin Fenix 8 Pro MicroLED next to my old 6 Pro Solar

I’m kind of in the same camp. I’m not seeing the value in the micro led. It was supposed to bring better battery life as some sort of middle ground between amoled and MIP. according to Garmin’s website the display has the same PPI as well so you’re not even getting a higher resolution screen, it’s j

Finally got my Fenix 8 pro

The layout and presentation of the Fenix line is great in my opinion, however the processing speed and refresh rate is very disappointing for a $1k watch. These things should be extremely snappy and the AMOLED response should be much quicker and smooth like the AW. I think Garmin's R&D division is s

Ultra 3 v Fenix 8

I like Garmin health metrics and display better. Its all in one app. Apple is all over the place and you have to charge the Ultra every 2 days or so. Source: I’ve gone back and forth from Apple to Garmin more times than I can remember. All I miss about Apple is Siri and the action button now I have

New to this…help me decide!

You say you’ve never had a MIP or Garmin, but have you ever seen/used one in person? If not, I’d recommend going in store somewhere and looking at it firsthand in order to get a feel for the screens and the size of the watch. Coming from an Apple Watch, you might feel like a MIP is underwhelming and

Garmin fenix 8 solar flashlight bleed

I have the solar version. I found this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/GarminFenix/s/CAKxDpz8Px. Apparently almost everyone has this. Some more some less. Don’t bother about it. Replacing it someone said Garmin told them it’s within tolerance. You could try of course, yours it a bit excessive
