Not the most frugal thing I know, I just splurged on myself with a new running watch, Garmin Epix Pro gen 2 sapphire. Ran be $450, and that is on sale. I run 1000-1500 miles a year and I like data. I think it will be worth it (and a lot better than the Vivoactive 4 I've been using since 2020.)

As an epix pro 2 user am I missing out on anything specific to a Fenix?
The epix gen 2 is basically a renamed fenix 7 but in AMOLED. I have the fenix 7 pro sapphire solar mip, wife has the epix gen 2, and they are identical in every way except for screen technology and solar. The fenix 7 did not come in AMOLED, they released that version as the epix. For the fenix 8 lin

You can’t convince me Garmin is better than Apple
Ha! I've been an Apple Watch user since they came out. I had some FOMO with my ultrarunner husband and daughter with their Garmins, so I got exactly that Epix Pro Gen 2. It lasted maybe 3 hours, and I hated it so much I returned it right away. I barely got through setting it up and knew it wasn't fo

Buy fenix 8 or wait for fenix 9
I’m waiting, the 8 processor is so slow and dated. The screen takes longer to turn on than my Epix gen 2 (non pro) does. IMO it’s half baked for what they cost these days. That being said, if I needed a new Garmin right now I would still buy it lol.

Is buying a Garmin GPSMAP actually worth it?
I picked up a Garmin Epix 2 two years ago for £430 and it came with all the maps of europe. I use it on basically every hike. I love it and it makes route planning way easier.

Best watch I’ve ever had, what do u guys think about the instinct?
I want one. I was trying to between the instinct 3 or the epix gen 2. I went with the epix. I found it on Amazon for $300. My next watch will be an instinct.

"Solar is gimmick on MIP Fenix" 🤣
The AMOLED watches are perfectly visible in sunlight. DCrainmaker has said as much in countless videos of his to point of it not being a valid reason not to get AMOLED. Also they're better now than with the original Epix Gen 2 (which I have incidentally having had an F3, F5 and F6X). The latest micr

Is Fenix 7 pro 2 worth it
I bought my Fenix 7 Pro in December, and love it! It's a fantastic tool that gives me incentive to work out. That is worth the money 😄It's surely overkill for any mortal, but i still use it a lot, mostly for strenght training, pilates, calisthenics, cardio, for the eventual hike, listening to music

Does GPS work better on newer models?
Well after the fenix 7 pro / Epix gen 2 pro the Epix is no more, it has become the Fenix Amoled. Personally I’m happy with the amoled screens, although I use a very minimalistic watchface. I’d recommend a Fenix 8 and if somewhat on a budget a Fenix 7 pro / Epix gen 2 pro. Amoled vs MIP is just about
