I believe the biggest difference is a new processor so slightly better AF, I'll still sometimes switch to MF if I need to. Also, the III has a couple more film simulations. I'm not sure where you live but MPB has the III for about $1000 USD as Like-New Used which is about $200-300 cheaper than new.

The X-T3 is still great in 2026. It‘s just not the smallest among Fujifilm cameras.
