I had an xt10 after using many other dslrs and the autofocus was not great but totally usable. I have had an xe3 and xt2 the autofocus on both of those is definitely better and they are only slightly newer than the xt10, so I imagine anyone saying that fujis are bad has just not had experience with

jumping from d70 to fujifilm xt10 then xh1 and back to z50ii. anwser is focusing. Xt100 is probably the worse X model I've owned (x10/20/30, xt10. Yep. Also I love all these newer Fuji camera owners talking affirmatively about the ancient XT10 autofocus as if it is in any way remotely similar to their XT5, XT30ii etc. 𤣠Anyway, it's fine enough for a beginner to learn on. But yeah, it's not good autofocus.

Your budget is too low for a Fuji. Maybe you could get the XA series camera or an XT100. But those are cheap, plastic cameras that use a different sensor system and they are not the Fuji experience.
