FX3 or A7V as someone transitioning from photos to video
Honestly the X-H2S is a great camera and in some ways has a better image/video specs than either Sony (open gate, 6K, ProRes or high data rate H265, great color). The biggest improvement you’ll notice is autofocus (Fuji AF is terrible) but the lenses are bigger and more expensive. If you do get a So

Beginner filmmaker looking for an affordable camera for short films + photograph
Fujifilm xh2s. I own an Alexa Mini and I swear this tiny hybrid camera is the closest to it that also takes photos.

Official Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know! April 10, 2026
I like the X-S20 and for more entry level users it's amazing but for my requirements it lacked full weather sealing and dual SD card slots. But I was tempted to sell my X-T5 for it because of ergonomics. Luckily, Smallrig fixed the ergonomics problem with an L bracket for the X-T5 for a deeper grip

Moving from Sony
May I recommend renting gear you are interested in buying before switching systems. The cost outlay is no worse than potential losses taken when selling. I used to shoot Canon DSLR’s (5DIV and 7DII) but wanted to go to a lighter mirrorless kit. I thought for certain I would end up with a Canon R5, w

I'm still not sure what to buy, OM1 vs Nikon for birds?
I switched 10 months ago from Fujifilm (X-H2S/150-600) to a OM-1 Mark II and 100-400 Mark 1 for birds and am completely happy. Can't lift the MZ150-600 and don't need a shorter 300/4 unless I start finding owls very close in dim light.
