What subwoofer(s) are you all using? (For mixing)

I'm using a Focal Sub One with a pair of Alpha Evo 65s, very happy with the combo. They blend together seamlessly. I also use ARC room correction, which greatly helped even out the low-end.

How to stop buying DJ stuff

Yeah that sounds understandable. The Rokit 5's are not that flat so will give you some surprises regarding translation. You're probably never going to be able to replicate the club feeling in an apartment where you can't make too much noise, but you can upgrade a bit. For 2-way speakers it seems the

Upgrading from Yamaha HS7?

I upgraded from HS7 to the old Focal Alpha 65 (not the EVO) a couple years ago and I could not have been happier that I did. I can’t speak to the sound of the EVO but the OG Alpha 65 performs better in almost every way. Better highs, better lows, clearer midrange, more accurate transients. The only

Speaker reccomendations

Ayy are you in for a treat upgrading from a guitar amp :D My recommendation is the Kali Audio LP6 V2. If you want to buy from EU, I also like the Focal Alpha Evo 65. Slightly more expensive though. There's bigger and smaller models but to me 6-7 inch is the sweet spot, some bass, not overbaring in u

Beginner Gear Questions (help me choose my speakers)

Well the other speakers you are listing are not really that good price/quality picks (imho). Here's a list of good starter monitors you might find used: Focal Alpha (Evo) range Kali Audio LP6V2, LP8V2 Adam TxV range Yamaha HS range Id shoot for at least a 6,5 inch woofer to get some bass response.

Best speakers that have good clarity and bass for listening to music/DJ'ing at home? I listen to Trance. Budget around £200-500

Hi, i still havent managed to settle with anything. I actually returned another pair yesterday. Ive tried Focal Alpha Evo 50, Adam T5V, Pioneer VM70 and now im waiting on Kalis to come next week. The Focals sounded the best imo so far but still not as good as what i wanted. Most studio speakers are

Disappointed by KRK Rokit RP5 G5 monitor in comparison to old ADAM AUDIO F5

With little experience i gathered until now in sound world and considering your taste as its described partly in main post and also asking price and while i read almost all replies and since you don't search for 8" woofer then i think that Adam T7V, Mackie MR624, JBL 306P, Focal Alpha 65 Evo, Preson

KALI IN8 V2 good for music listening and production later on? My last option

It's all new to me production wise. They sound like they will serve me well as a beginner, especially late at night. I may end up getting them and get a cheaper set of monitors to start to save some money. I may keep these Focal Alpha Evo 50's. I don't think i need to test any 8" woofers in my small

Monitor opinion

I've got the previous model Focal Alpha 65 (non-evo). Use them for music production and DJing (although I don't have them at ear height when standing up). Awesome sounding speakers, plenty of bass in the 65 already. Maybe the 80 is gonna sound a bit overpowering in the bass if you have an untreated

best studio monitors

I can recommend Focal Alpha EVO 50s. I use them near field in the living room and they sound great on ear level monitor stands, on a 4' equilateral triangle setup with my digital piano and synths. Good bass for their size and impressive imaging. I have basic room treatment on the walls with furnitur
