Yamaha HS series are just notorious for having pretty bright and uncomfortable high end. Otherwise they're great for mixing but that does take some getting used to as people tend to make tracks on them that are too dull in the high end when starting out on them. I don't think you're gonna get comfor

Shape 65 gang! đ The Alpha 65s don't have the fancy flax cone but they punch way above their weight for the price. Focal knows what they're doing.

ngl that's not that phat of a monitor situation compared to the AZ. Are you DJ only or music producer as well? If you're DJ only I wouldn't recommend Yamaha's, they were great value for money a while ago but right now you can do better. The Yamaha's have a pretty shrill and fatigueing high end, mixe

Oh I don't have the LP-6 V2 in particular. I do have same woofer size monitors, also front ported (Focal Alpha 65). I keep the dip switch settings to neutral since I do EQing in my PC through roomeqwizard-Equalizer APO. I think if you're using an EQ on your PC it's best to keep dip switches at neutr

I have the older version, not the Evo's. Just Focal Alpha 65. I love em, they've been with me for 5 years from garbage tracks mixed in an untreated room, to now making music that I can sneak in among pro made tracks đ I do intend to upgrade to Focal Trio 6 st6 if I ever reach the budget required but

It was worse years ago especially if there were no monitors. This is where mixing in headphones or sync has its ben

I'm using a Focal Sub One with a pair of Alpha Evo 65s, very happy with the combo. They blend together seamlessly. I also use ARC room correction, which greatly helped even out the low-end.

Thanks dude! They're Focal Alpha 65, solid monitors for the price, really happy with them. And yeah, the ceiling treatment is Multifuser DC3 panels, plus basstraps in every corner. Helps a ton with the room acoustics. Appreciate you noticing!

$5k is a decent starting budget but for investing into a professional studio thatâs barely the tip of the iceberg If you already have a solid interface with 8+ input/pre channels available I would say put at the very least $1500 into sound treatment and put the rest into a solid workhorse vocal mic
