What’s a brand you’ll never trust again and why?
I've had my Garmin Instinct 2 for about a year now. It's almost comical how much more data I get from my swims compared to the Fitbit Charge 5 I had. Fitbit basically had like duration and extrapolated number of laps from motion. That was it. It was also wrong on even that one metric more often than

Should I be eating the calories burned from walking?
I've used a Fitbit charge 5 that just died after 3 years. That specific model was notorious for faults, but for $100 to $160 you can get a low-end Fitbit charge 6/inspire3 or Garmin vivosmart 5 that'll work great. GarmIn's are less flashy but more reliable based on reviews. They are not as good for

Pixel Watch 2 HR Monitor Has Stopped Working
I gave up trying to make it work consistently and just ended up buying a Garmin. Google/Fitbit have screwed me over enough with devices that have just stopped functioning (RIP to my Charge 5), and the monthly cost to get the most out of my smart watches.

Any new watches coming ?
My charge 5 is on its last legs, but when I saw that charge 6 was the last release, and that was a couple years ago, I was concerned that they were basically phasing out the Fitbit watches. With Google taking over, I was expecting that they were going to phase out the Fitbit watches and force you ov

This is crazy
Fitbit has been going downhill since Google took over. People have been complaining about the wrist band randomly shutting off whenever you do exercise that requires GPS, like running or walking. That's what my Fitbit Charge 5 started doing after the last update. It was about 5 years old, so I thoug

Tell me if I should/not get a fitbit
12 years with Fitbit, from the One pedometer through all the versions leading to the Charge line. Due to new ownership, when my Charge 5 died I left Fitbit. (Except I still use my Aria scale, which has also had the data nerfed so I'm looking to get a newer body composition scale) As a new user, with

Warning to all Charge 5 Customers - Read this right now
It can be assumed that the Charge 5 was (allegedly) a lemon from the outset and they still knowingly sold it, playing to odds of customers raising complaints and giving compromised replacements that would also eventually fail. Offering discounts to other devices as a diversion tactic. Smells of very

Warning to all Charge 5 Customers - Read this right now
Hello fellow people with FitBit 5 charge issues! -- It has just happened on mine and I am still trying out some of the troubleshooting but the thread doesn't inspire confidence. That, and the symptoms really pointing to a failing battery which is a pretty straightforward issue for the company to adm

My Fitbit Charge 5 got water damage because I swam in a pool.
I've had Fitbits since 2017 and never had issues with my first 2 (first one was a Charge 2 and I upgraded to the Charge 4 after 4 years when I cracked my screen). I was excited to upgrade to the Charge 5 and I've had nothing but problems, which is when I discovered Google had bought them out.... My
