Fitbit Ace LTE Warning

Fitbit (Google) Ace LTE was recently released as a smartwatch for kids. The product and features seemed great on the surface so I bought it as a gift for my daughter. You pay a $9.99 monthly fee (discounted the first year) for LTE services to be able to message and call the watch. It seemed like an

Two months on with the Fitbit Ace LTE

It has been nearly two months since my daughter (10) started using her Fitbit Ace LTE. I purchased it from Google with delivery set for day of release. We have a fair bit of experience with the watch now, so I thought I would write about our experience since the watch and service as a whole seem to

I had to replace the band with one

  • No phone number. IP calls only.
  • Can't call 911
  • Contactless payment may only support kid-oriented cards like gohenry and

Assurant is annoying

Got the Fitbit Ace LTE for my kid. He loves but took the bumper off and lost it the 1st day. So on the 4th day he of course dropped it and cracked the screen. Had the insurance because kids are monsters so I filed the claim and paid the $30 deductible.

Received a Pixel Fold ($1300 phone) instead o

Phone for child

We use a Fitbit Ace LTE watch. He can text and call approved contacts, it has a few motion games, and schooltime mode where it turns into a dumb watch during school hours. It has held up well during the past year on our active 10 year old.
