I would reject both of your options. Libra ... in theory should allow you to switch between settings easily. I don't agree with your theory. Switching any hopper grinder between grind settings is problematical. You need to purge the grinder to get rid of the retained grinds from the previous setting

I'm a beginners as well, but my impression from multiple failed sour shots, is that filling the portafilter enough is pretty important for the taste. I have Eureka mignon libra and profitech 600. The grinding setting has to be just right, I my experience. It can be real finnicky.

Eureka Libra - 3 years since it came out... any thoughts?
I have a Eureka Mignon Libra AP 65mm with grind by weight. I use about a hopper of beans (generally a medium roast) in a week (~340g/12oz), and don’t notice any real change from the first beans from a freshly-opened bag to the end of the hopper fill. However, the workflow is … meh. The beans jam in
