Personally I am still waiting for newer generations. Last few years the progress is pretty great. I know for example that Freak Athlete is going to release a adjustable dumbbell. And so far their products for homegym have been pretty good, so I am waiting too see what they bring. These are my issues

They are too slow. And this is coming from me who are using Eisenlinks (white label brand). My workouts end up 20min longer due to the extra time I am spending changing the weights. I will give you an example as today I had shoulder workout. I start warming up with 10kg, then 18kg, 26kg, 34kg, 40kg

Try to find the IMs used and add the heavy handle kit. Heavy handle is what gives them the biggest advantage over Eisenlink IMO

I just bought the AOC adjustable dumbbells off of Amazon (AOC Pilates Dumbbells. They look the same as the Eisenlink, which is a ripoff of the Ironmasters, but are more rounded which sounds better than the square plates. I haven’t received them yet, but hoping they’ll be a good long term solution.

Eisenlink is faster for small changes but not large changes. Structurally I don't like the Eisenlink design. Eisenlink for whatever reason have stock issues. For example if you go to their website everything is sold out. I admit it is a great system but it is still mostly closed. However both Eisenlink and Ironmasters handles are compatible with 1” plates. Also who knows how long Eisenlink will be around.
