I've 2 installed. One three years, one 1 year. I'm nowhere near a coastal area, and one has corroded like it's been in a saltwater bath. The newer one is starting to corrode too. They occasionally just go offline despite my house being timber frame and having 4x Eero 6+ units casting one hell of a s

Altafiber Gateway Upgrade

For what it's worth, I have the Eero 6+, have had it for almost 4 years and have had no problems whatsoever with it.

New WiFi router suggestions

Eero 6+ is more than fine. Go with their 7 option if you want. I’ll probably get hate for this, but UniFi will be overkill. Source: been installing UniFi for 10 years.

Is a UniFi Express 7 overkill for just a regular household?

Let me share my story. I’ve been using an eero 6+ with a unmanaged switch from Netgear for years. It’s been rock solid but networking details are all locked behind a paywall. Also, eero does not have a web interface. My condo is roughly 1,000 sq. feet with cable ISP 1 Gb DL and 50 Mb UL. I have 19 d

Pro xg vs xgs wifi 7 heat

You’ll have less coverage… The IW serie is made for hotel rooms, where we install one in EACH room, or for offfice desks (same, 1 per room). The fact that you didn’t mount on ceiling is not very bad, we install more on walls (vertical), in top part of closets, over furnitures, in false ceiling close

Wifi range not reaching my bedroom PLEASE HELP IM GOING INSANE

Your problem is simple. The router Spectrum gave you is weak, and it is sitting too far from your room. You do not need Ethernet in every room, and you do not need to touch the coax ports at all. Ignore the video you saw. You also do not want a “wifi extender.” Those cut your speed in half because t

What are people replacing TP-Link routers with?

I have a Lenovo workstation and several laptop project boxes behind a hybrid smart switch that is daisy chained off an ethernet port and then running a wireless backhaul off a upstairs in my home. My main "box" is an esxi with multiple VMs on it and it works amazingly well. The set and forget it is

Humbly requesting a check of my home networking plans

The future (in wifi) seems to be about 3-5 years, wifi 8 is already in the beginning process of being drafted - so futureproofing is a bit foolish in tech world really. Also, unless you need wifi 7 for some particular reason (and your speed says no), there's good reason to let it mature in the marke

Help finding new Network equipment.

The home was built in 1979, is 3 stories, and has phone jacks in every room. I am pretty sure this is old telephone wire and not cat 5, but not 100% sure. I know the lines are also stapled in various places, so I can't use them to fish ethernet through. This is an important thing to find out. If it'

Is this Exceptional Speed?

Your iphone 16 pro is wifi 7 capable, is your router have mlo enabled, no reason you shouldn't be pushing closer to 2000 mbps. Is that the only wifi7 device you have? Many wifi 7 devises are now pushing firmware to run only on 2.4 and 6ghz band now, early results had issues with running 5 and 6 toge
