I think you've pretty much answered your own question where if you haven't had any issues with your belay devices, you probably don't need a third. You can consider whether or not you can get away with using just a single belay device for belaying a leader, belaying a follower, and for rappelling. T

What would be the perfect belay device for you?
The idea of the Edelrid Giga Jul is really good, but it's really picky with carabiners and ropes.

I’m considering buying either the Edelrid Giga Jul or the CT Alpine Up for multipitch routes. I want an ABD since I mostly climb with my girlfriend, who is inexperienced and also weighs about 25 kg less than me. Has anyone who has used both been able to give me some advice?
Alpine Up is heavier and bulkier than GigaJul. Honestly I have experience only with Click ups, but I consider that an earlier generation of ABDs (I prefer Gigajul or Mammut Smart as belayer). Edelrid learnt lessons from Click up and Megajul and created Gigajul - I would go for the latter. Speaking o
