Tracking Collars

I moved over to the Dogtra Pathfinder 2 collar system. I have been using it for the last 3 months and I find it to be quite adequate for my two birddogs and at half the price of the Garmin. The only downside I find which I believe is common with any tracking system is the battery drain on the phone

Almost learned the hard way that self-closing gates aren’t foolproof

I use Tractive for gps since it has cellular, this is great for dogs who run far - you get notified when they leave the area and you can track them as long as you & them have cell service. Since I’m home I also use the Dogtra Pathfinder 2 hunting collar. It uses radio frequencies instead of cellular

Invisible Fence training suggestions (rewrite)

I had a similar issue with my treeing tennessee brindle, the fence I had at the time work great for the beagles but my brindle figured out how to either wait for the tone to stop or just blow through it. I switched over to using my tracking collars for hunting, which allow me set up a GPS based fenc

Tracking collar recs?

This may not be the answer youre looking for but ill share anyway. My wife and I and our 2 v's also live on 40 acres of non viszla proof fenced property and also have zero cell service. We wanted the dogs to be able to roam the property and play but not run off and didn't want to spend 40k putting m

GPS dog collar with fence feature - Dogtra Pathfinder 2?

These 3 are very different products. It really depends on what you are specifically looking for the product to achieve for you. If you want to check in on your dog remotely like if you are at work etc. then you will have to pay for a LTE based unit (Halo/Spot-on). This means you will be paying a mon

GPS dog collar with fence feature - Dogtra Pathfinder 2?

I use the Dogtra Pathfinder 2 for our LGD dogs! So far it’s been accurate and gives me peace of mind to let them do what they need to do. One of my favourite features is the running / bark feature, sometimes I have headphones on and inside the house and know they’re barking at something. The efence

Invisible fence question 😇

I know you’ve had tons of recommendations in the last few hours but I’ll throw my 2 cents in. I have always had labs, boykins, hounds… very human and treat oriented dogs up until about 6 months ago when we rescued a 1-2 year old pyr from an abusive situation. Much different with pyrs but would chang

Anyone know of a dog caller that can keep a dog OUT of something, instead of IN?

Yeah so using one of the mentioned gps collars or buried wire collars I would set the boundary a good distance back. That way she can’t even get near it. The gps collar is the most customizable, least cost prohibitive and some of them even give you data / notifications (either real time or reviewing

Looking for GPS Collar recommendations.

I have the pathfinder 2 mini, which is the size Dogtra recommended for beagles. I use it for a fence in the yard and tracking when hunting. There are 3 different fences. Mobile, geo-fence, and e-fence. I believe the e-fence is the only one that will correct automatically. If I remember correctly the

GPS Dog Collars and Electric fencing

I use Dogtra Pathfinder 2 collars. Have 2 gsp’s and use the collars for hunting and around our 6 acre property. They have 3 different E-Fence options to choose from. Can do everything from the smartphone app or the remotes. Been using them for 3 seasons with no complaints.
