I like the DMM Pivot. Belay, rappel, belay from the top all in one device and the pivot function makes lowering very easy from the top if necessary. Edit: Down-votes for answering the question in the post title? Oh, Reddit, how I love thee.

If you ever plan on climbing trad, then yes. We use half ropes by default, so the only options you really have for assisted braking in that case is the mega/giga jul.
