What’s your “I realized this is all I need 95% of the time” camera?

For video work, a DJI Osmo pocket 3. Unless I’m doing something very specific in low light, the pocket 3 is all I need. I don’t even have to think if I should bring it when I go out. It’s just always in my bag.

Canon trying the pocket gimbal route, is this finally a real contender

Cost and clientelle. Gimbal videography used to be really only used by professionals who already have expensive cameras and therefore were only interested in universal gimbals. These people also usually had more money but demanded higher quality products, hence expensive robust equipment. DJI succee

Looking to level up my DJI Osmo Pocket 3 setup. Your personal must-have accessories or hidden gems

I know the size of the pocket is a key selling point, but, even though it adds some bulk, I gotta recommend the pro case by Scotty Makes Stuff https://us.scottymakesstuff.com/collections/dji-osmo-pocket-3-accessories I used to be so paranoid always with the p3, especially traveling to soccer matches

The Lumix S9 with the 18-40 is one of the most underrated combos ever.

Matt from Lumix recently stated the camera has far exceeded their expectations in terms of sales. It’s a really popular item for them. I got one myself recently, mainly to use as a EDC for video and to be able to take the occasional higher quality picture. Background: I started my Lumix journey with

Convince me to buy a BMPCC or a different camera

There's good news and bad news. The bad news is that there is no best or better camera. The good news is that any modern camera will do. No one who enjoys your film will be even remotely influenced by your equipment choices. Now, based on my experience making a "micro budget indy film", I'd use two

What is the GR III of video cameras?

I would put dji osmo pocket 3 in the same category for video. Small, audio quality is great, can shoot d-log, stabilization is amazing. Bigger cameras like lumix, sony etc. are just not in the same category of weight and portability. Even the the aps-c sensor ones, they are just much bulkier when yo

Osmo Pocket 4 - The World In My Pocket

As someone who uses both setups a whole lot in public (it's basically how I make my living) the DJI Pocket is far more discreet. Everyone knows and can see you with your phone on a gimbal, even though it's still obvious when you're recording with a Pocket 3 it draws way less attention. Also it's jus

First order of business? I’m not surprised

Does anyone have a specific setup they believe in for filming games regarding location, height, angle, and equipment to support this positioning?

Here's my setup as a professional commercial filmmaker who now also does pickleball reviews / content so I need gameplay footage to talk through things and am picky about how it looks. I've run phones, professional cameras, gopros, etc but my preferred method is the dji osmo pocket 3. It's small, li
