You mentioned dynamic range, and if you want to lean into that then a display HDR capable monitor will blow your socks off. With a 1000nit display you can probably see 3-4 more stops of dynamic range, and so lots of detail in highlights that get blown out on low 350nit-ish displays. Great for like s

One of the best I've used of late is the Apple Studio Display XDR. Amazing HDR performance, and very accurate color right out of the box. I'm very impressed with the blacks; must be the mini led thing. The non XDR Studio Display is good, but not sure the current one is a good value. An older used on

They're kind of hard to find, but I got a Dell UP3221Q 32" 4K HDR monitor (1000nits) for sale for less than that. Built in colorimeter, quite sharp, and of course great for display HDR. A very nice monitor. The Studio Display is very good too, although not as nice for HDR as it has about 1 stop HDR

There are lots of displays out there oriented to graphic arts, photo, and video. Not sure why you are only getting gaming results. I have a Dell UP3221Q for example I like a lot; it has a built in colorimeter. Not sure Dell is still making them, but I have seen them at good prices vs the original $3

I have the Dell UP3221Q, which has an integrated colorimeter, and it works fine. Not sure about that model though, but I'd maybe guess it's the same. An external one is more useful though, since can be used with other displays, laptops, etc.
