I think the trade of is better specs vs better build quality? seems like the Dell Pro 16 Plus has all aluminum chasis and easier to swap out memory and ssd and repair. So its either dell 16 plus for the power and speed and the better screen or the better durability. Not sure which to choose

I would get the Dell Pro 16 Plus. It has an aluminum chassis. Any processor is fine. 16GB minimum RAM, but 32GB is better. Since you can't add more later.
