Laptop Replacement Guideline
We typically buy the most expensive ones we can (Current round is i7/32GB/512GB Dell Pro 14 Premium for example) which stretches their useful life out to 5-6 years. We get them with 3 years of prosupport/in home and then after that self spare (We have my guys certified and can self dispatch parts fr

Best mid tier Dell laptop for mechanics
Dell Pro 14 Plus (14”) or Dell Pro 16 Plus (16") Both are mid tier. Get 32gb of RAM and it'll never need to be upgraded in its lifetime. Also recommend "Pro Support" warranty (next business day onsite) for as long as you are in school and want the laptop to last. 3 years? 5 years? Any processor you

Recommendation: Choosing between 3 work laptops
Of these I'd personally go for the Dell Pro 14 Plus. IME 5/7 isn't usually that huge of a jump and it'll be logistically easier to ride out the extra year on the lifecycle of the Pro 14 Plus. Plus, if your workplace is moving from Lenovo to Dell as primary vendor tough to say what the internal suppo

Does Anyone have Experience of Dell Pro 14 Plus Laptop
The Dell Pro 14 Plus is a pretty nice and reliable computer. It does have an aluminum chassis. A few of my client's have them. No issues so far. These replaced the Latitude line, so I'd say they are comparable to the Thinkpad line. As far as repairability, I don't know if it's better or worse than a

Dell Pro Plus 16" - My thoughts so far.
Dell have again have clearly dropped in quality. We started using 5440s as a standard device and at least 20% of these have had to go back and had mainboards swapped out. 5450s were better but not much. Then they changes the naming so srandard device is now Pro 14. Build quality is laughable, servic

Avoid Dell at all costs
I’ve spent around 1.8 million on Dell stuff this year alone. I can't say I've had the same problem, my Dell experience, minus this shift from latitude/precision to Pro, Pro Plus, Pro Max, Pro Pro Pro, Pro Precision, precision pro and Precision Pro 14, 14s ... And anyway - my account reps have been g

New office set up - can’t get all monitors to connect
During the first half year if not more after they released Dell Pro series laptops, Dell mis-spec'ed the Pro 14 Premium (probably Pro 16 Premium also), with official multidisplay support matrix at the time incorrectly said supports up to 4 displays, despite Pro 14 Premium only available with the Int

Pro 14 Premium PA14260 vs XPS 14 (2026) DA14260
Unfortunately, I had to turn to AI on this one. But CoPilot explained the differences pretty well for me: Why Dell Charges Over $1000 More for the Pro 14 Premium Even though the XPS 14 is objectively superior in performance, display, battery life, and build, Dell prices the Pro 14 Premium higher due
