Buy laptops from the corporate lines, so Lenovo Thinkpads, Dell Latitude/Pro Plus or HP Elitebooks. 🤷 I’ve just received a Dell Pro Plus PB14250. It feels a lot nicer than the Latitude 5420 it’s intended to replace. Metal case rather than plastic, much nicer keyboard, better screen. It’s not MacBook nice but it’s still pretty nice nevertheless.

Macbook or Windows?
You can consider a Macbook Air M4 with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage. With windows, I think a Dell Pro Pb14250 or a Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 would be good. Both with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. Have a look at Best buy
