COMPUTER FOR ANSYS SIMULATION
The 7670 works pretty well, that is what I use. I have it upgraded to 128GB CAMM RAM memory module and a second 4TB m.2 SSD. I also have a Ilano V13 laptop cooler that really helps out. What is Dell’s competitor to the Lenovo ThinkPad T16?
Dell precision 7670, 7680, etc. Because what you're describing is called a "workstation" and Dell makes high end workstations. I usually buy them refurbished because their new cost is crazy high

Looking for a good laptop recommendation (ML/AI focused)
You won't find anything within your budget range brand new for the work you do. You need that massive amount of ram to handle the tasks you do. For a GPU stand point find a laptop that has a 5070ti. For slimmer models Lenovo Legion's are good for this and might be able to find one within your price

for a new purchase i would recommend the Dell Precision 7670/7680 if your budget doesn't allow for new then i would suggest a used or refurbished Dell Precision 7540/7550
