If you're US based, https://www.dellrefurbished.com/ (Dell Financial Service's lease return sales) has a ton of really nice 12th gen machines - the Precision 5570 for a higher-powered one, or the Latitude 9430 for a more mobile one. The Latitude 7430 is also worth looking at, but when purchasing fro

14" Dell Latitude 7430 is what I use, i7 and 16GB of RAM and a fresh copy of Win11. Plays just fine, and you can scoop these up for $250 pretty often.

I have a Dell latitude 7430 2 in 1 running fedora 43 and I only had to fix some display flickering issues with a few settings in the terminal. Otherwise everything works, no driver issues or anything

Yes. It's time to replace. Your laptop is a 14". You can replace it with another 14" latitude that'll be far superior. Something like this. https://www.dellrefurbished.com/item/dell-latitude-7430-touch-6813a0e1/dell-latitude-7430-touch/1.html There's lots of nice reasonable latitude laptops on the s

I'm partial to the Latitude 74xx series. So I'd look at the 7430 with the 12th gen. It's not going to be great for gaming though. https://www.dellrefurbished.com/item/dell-latitude-7430-6835c26f/dell-latitude-7430/1.html

I see them, business grade, all the time since I switched to IT career. Far better build quality most years. Only the Dell Latitude 7420 had an issue with RAM too powerful for the motherboard. Dell Latitude 7430 to Dell Pro Plus has had no issues for those in finance/accounting/data analysis fields.

Latitude/Dell Pro Plus line is relatively good. Only the Latitude 7420 has had problems with heat. The Latitude 7430 to the Dell Pro 14 Plus have been excellent for their target market (accountants, analysts, and IT support).

Depends on what you mean by powerful. My personal laptop is an off lease Dell Latitude 7430 with an Intel i7 1265u. It meets my needs w 10 cores and 12 threads the 32gb of ram is helpful too.

I spent a while looking for a device with decent specs with your exact budget & planned use because I was in a similar situation. I had luck looking at Dell Latitude 7430s (I think a 7440 would be better but you'd need to wait for a better deal than I could find) and Lenovo T14's and T14s's. you pro
