I absolutely HATE my Creality K1 Max.
I can see why you have frustrations. Both my K1M’s had 2k+ print hours before I started modding them. Tuning took a while on them before modding, but once dialed in - print results were great. Modding is a black hole that I may never climb out of - I’ve tried 6-7 different hotends, BCJ linear rail s

Wife wants me to throw out the K1max and buy a Bambu. I'm out of ideas, please help me
I have the k1 Max for over a year and a half and been running like a champ, only issue I’ve ran into is heat creep with PLA (fix is a lid lift) and had some old or poor filament that could never get to print. I’ve also upgrade the thermistor to a PT1000 to reach hotend temps at 350c to start printin

U1
I have a Creality k2 plus with almost 4000 hours on it. I'd bin it tomorrow if snapmaker made a bigger version of the U1. My first U1 has 1700hrs and second has 200hrs. Zero issues. Have been absolute workhorses and super reliable in my experience.

Bambu labs P1s combo or Creality K2 combo?
Bambu works out of the box. You may or may not have to tinker a bit with creality. I've been lucky in have 4 k1s and a k2 plus and didnt really have to tinker with them. A few issues that got ironed out pretty quick. I have 4 p1s and have had 0 issues with them. I've had more issues with a1 and a1 m

H2D / H2C and K2 Plus Owners Please Chime In
1 - I need honest input, how is first layer quality with using the whole build plate? The first layer quality on large (greater than 300mm on x/y) prints on my H2C is excellent. K2Plus it's always "good enough" that a print won't fail but I wouldn't use it for anything where first layer quality matte

Reliable first 3D printer - Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 or Creality K2 Combo?
IMO Creality's reputation is overblown and outdated. I've been pretty happy with all the K - series printers I've used. (K1, K1 Max, K2 Plus). I'd probably recommend Bambu or Qidi first for most people, but OP has ruled those out for other reasons. For OP, I think the CC2 is probably a better choice

Does a modified U1 still make sense for my use case?
I understand your concerns. I’ve also seen complaints about Creality printers on Reddit, but I think they’re mostly coming from first-time users with limited experience. I can only speak from my own experience, which has been positive. I’ve owned several Creality printers, and thankfully, I haven’t

Best beginner 3D printer for cosplay props?
Definitely better to buy a larger format printer upfront. Currently the largest good without being crazy expensive printer for cosplay is the Creality K2 Plus. I have owned multiple creality, bambu, snapmaker, and artillery printers. If you want to print knicknacks or flexis get a bambu. But for cos

Kaufberatung für Anfänger
Honestly, if you want: large build volume relatively low maintenance easy printing and an open ecosystem then every option will involve some compromise. K1 Max: very fast and relatively mature now, but still a Creality machine — sometimes great, sometimes frustrating. Good if you like tinkering a li
