Fellow Redditors asked for DIY air Purifier
Decent purifiers cost upwards of 15k ( Eg: coway airmega 150). Under 10k small air purifiers are useless because of less CADR and long time required for filtration + frequent need for proprietary filter replacement

Who here uses Air Purifier
I use Coway Airmega 150. Been 9 months now without need for replacing filters. Filters are readily available in Amazon. I use it round the clock alongside AC. The AC needs lesser maintenance too as lesser particulate matter enters it.

Deciding between the Smart Air Sqair and the Coway Airmega 150
Yeah, I'm not a fan of the Smart Air Sqair due to the lack of pre-filter. The problem is that you generally shouldn't vacuum EPA or HEPA filters. Airflow is meant to go in one direction. If you're aren't gentle or don't turn down the suction power, you could damage the filter media with a vacuum. Th

Air Purifier Coway or Agaro?
Using a Coway Airmega 150 since 2021. No issues till now. It's not used daily but I've kept the dust filter clean and never had to bother with the carbon filter. Replacements look readily available.

Room air purifiers
Noise is an important aspect to consider. A noisy filter will likely never be on. It's not just about sound level. It's about how annoying/soothing the sound your filter produces is. On this aspect I l like Coway's airmega 150 and 240. It's also easy to find replacement filters for these models.

AIR PURIFIER cause' yes it's a necessity now!
Look for CADR and room size first. Then look at filter replacement costs. Coway Airmega 150 is alright, but there's a newer model for 12k right now with a 2 year filter life, I'd get that

NCR folks — best air purifier under ₹40k?
why not go for airmega 250 coway instead of 150? It has bigger coverage and it would better cover your bedroom space. If considering Xiaomi, go for simple 4 (not the pro) since pro has ionizer which generates ozone ( not good) philips- not sure how is the filter availability situation presently but

Is Coway AirMega the best option?
the carbon filter not being "useless" thing - im with ya. thin carbon pre-filters on budget units are largely decorative, but the Airmega 160 has a more substantial carbon stage than most at that price point. if its making a difference on smell, its working. for a post-renovation situation with asth

These guys demonstrate the real impact of air purifiers
Check out the Coway Airmega - 150 bucks and worth every penny! The HEPA filters are kinda pricey but only replaced once a year or so. Never realized how much sleep was impacted by allergies! Bought a small one for my bedroom and later liked it so much I bought larger ones to cover every room in my h

Bit of a dilemma
Check warranty period before buying. I couldn't find it on their website. Also, check how easy it is to get their filters. Consider the cost assuming you might have to change filters after 6 months. Lot of companies claim their filters can go for 2 years or so but my understanding is that they have
