Yet another CH160 Plus Build. It is mostly a transplant (except the motherboard). Here are the main components are random tidbits that may help others:

Hello everyone, I am kind of new to this Battlestations and have been inspired by a lot of peoples posts, this community seems awesome. Here is my setup, not minimalistic at all but nearly every item on this table (It's a large dining room table 112x42 inches) is sentimental, including my first mot

The Tomahawk has features that you do not need, and is black. Consider the Gigabyte B850 Eagle (WiFi7) ICE. (The 9800X3D eats 120 W; water cooling would be overkill.) The V-Color Manta XSky RGB kit would be slightly cheaper than the Corsair Vengeance. At that price, the NM790 is a steal. But conside

X870E-E ROG Strix Gaming R2/USBC WiFi AMD AM5 ATX Motherboard You can very likely drop this to a B850 board with no noticeable effect - if you can't say what you need on that board versus something like an MSI B850 Tomahawk, chances are you don't need it. Which parts to keep/replace This is my suggestion, regardless of budget: Go with the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D instead of the more expensive (yet marginally faster) Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk Max is a super nice motherboard but painfully expensive at Php 17,650. If you are willing to compr

There’s another motherboard one tier above this one, the MSI PRO B760M-P DDR4, which has 4 RAM slots and 2 M.2 slots. I went with that one, and I also upgraded the PSU to the Corsair RM750e ATX 3.1. The PSU is quite expensive, but it will keep the other components well protected, so I think it’s wor

That advice is outdated and incorrect. It's a revised 12V-2x6 port, not early 12VHPWR: This is an ATX 3.1 unit. The 12V-2x6 revision recessed the power pins and shortened the sense pins so power will not deliver unless the plug is 100% seated, eliminating the issue seen on early 12VHPWR connectors.
