Seeking advice & maybe just conversation: sold my cameras & now I feel utterly DUMB. Has the market broken itself? Is the magic gone or is it just me?
I have no idea what you are talking about. go look on ebay. There are like a million used DSLRs for little money at every price point. You can get a really nice full frame sensor Canon for cheap these days - 5D variants, 6D variants. Even in mirrorless, R7s and R8s are pretty cheap and amazing camer

Which do you guys recommend I should get?
RP, no contest if you can afford it. Full frame vs APSC, and Canon have killed off the EOS-M lens mount so they no longer make lenses for it and 3rd parties are slowly abandoning it too.

How many megapixels do you need for DSLR digitizing?
I shoot 35mm and scan with a Canon EOS RP mirrorless. Its 26mp are plenty for me, and I sometimes print as big as 10 x 15 inches.

Anyone changed back from mirrorless to DSLR? Why did you?
I bought my first mirrorless (Canon EOS RP) about two years ago. I found the transition weird - the loss of a natural optical viewfinder was jarring. I kept my former DSLR (Canon EOS T6i) so that I could easily go back and forth. Of course the RP is full frame and newer, so it has better specs. Even

First attempt at Stacking Orion
I found Open Live Stacking by Artyom Bellis (https://github.com/artyom-beilis/OpenLiveStacker/wiki/Open-Live-Stacker-Manual) recently and used it last night in rural Kerala with very good skies and moderate humidity. The setup is travel friendly, I can use my smartphone and connect my mirrorless via

First attempt at capturing Andromeda and first image on my DIY tracker!
This is my fist attempt at deep sky photography and the first real world test of my DIY tracker. From a bortle scale 4 location.30x 20 second exposures @ ISO 12800 f7.1 at 600mm on the Sigma 150-600 and the Canon EOS RPstacked in DSS, Luminance edited in PhotoshopNow that I know the tracker does its

Cheapest mirrorless camera?
The Sony a6000 series that everyone is recommending is indeed the correct answer. There are so many of them floating around and the third party lens selection is huge and has many inexpensive options. The alternative answer is a used Canon EOS RP which I only mention because it’s essentially the exa

In this case, it would be already as expensive (with all lenses) as a Full frame used Canon eos rp. May be I better spend money on this?
