Momma | I feel lucky to have gotten this image after getting my first digital camera a month before
After four years of playing and learning with film photography, a trip to western Wyoming prompted me to buy and start to try and understand a Canon EOS RP as a budget-yet-capable mirrorless. I knew I wanted a long lens so the RF600MM f11 IS STM was a decent go-to. On day 2 into the trip, my friend

It's not near other Orion picture buy I'm kind of happy I could archive this without tracking on a kit lens, looking forward to add more tools and have more attempts to capture my favorite DSO.

Recommendations on cameras good for skyline photography?
I only know Canon hardware (Sony or Nikon are fine, too) and I'd see if I could find a used full format, like R6 (MK I) or R8, perhaps even an older RP for that budget. Lenses are a different matter and might cost you more than the camera, although a relatively cheap do-it-all zoom like 24-105mm plu

Is there any benefit to higher ISO?
Modern cameras use switchable internal low noise amplifiers. This means high ISO can be less noisy compared to low iso image with increased exposure. Should avoid this generalization, old CCDs were mostly "just making the image brighter" but some modern ones are basically doing that too. People call

Milky Way Core
Went to an bortle 1 island on my home country, Panamá. Had the oportunity to take this tracked image of our milky way, and while the moon did not hide until 3:30 a.m., I think this went pretty good overall, since I had only like 1 hour before sunrise.
