What body should I upgrade to? Concerned about moiré issues when shooting commercial work with the S1 II. More details in the post.

Canon is good but R6III has serious overheating problems (even in burst photo mode). For video only Lumix is good (nice ibis, codecs, open gate). If you want video oriented only go Lumix

Sony A7 IV alternatives

Re. colour science: The "colour science" differences between various manufacturers is basically a non-issue at this point. It's pretty darn simple for someone with even an intermediate understanding of color correction to match one camera to the next so long as you're recording in log in at least 10

A7V released - 33MP partially stacked, 7.5 stop IBIS, new processor, $2900 USD - available for preorder

Like everyone else I've been waiting for this camera. From a photography side it's amazing, but from a video side it's disappointing. Most of the competition is giving higher resolution 12bit video while sony limits it to 4k 10bit. So many people repeat the same no one uses 6k 12bit and even if they

Nikon Z8 or Canon R6 III for video

Same price cameras, Nikon Z8's 4K is sharper. I know that's not everything, but that's a point in favor of Nikon (i guess). Sony's 120fps looks the best (compared to Canon R6III and the Nikon Z8)

Lexar confirms that CFexpress cards run hotter than SD cards in cameras – and says it's an industry-wide challenge

SD card drives me mad with my Canon R6II - it’s painfully slow when you shoot even not that huge amount of RAW photos. Only because of CFe i want to upgrade it to R6III

Wedding photographer looking to add video (Canon ecosystem?) – R6 Mark II or switching brands

Sony as video king might be a little missinformed, but i say Lumix has the best video capabilities from all brands. Im worried about Canon's overheating in video mode, and also sony's as most models as a7v, a7iv, r6ii and r6iii has no internal fan, just passive cooling. If you want canon or sony for

Open Gate & Vertical Shooting vs 4k?

My issue with the Canon R6iii and open gate is that you lose 60fps and digital stabilization options (which limits handheld use a bit), and the camera heats up much faster in that mode. If I just shoot a wider frame at 4K I can still use all of the cameras features so I usually go with that since th

Lumix S1II vs. Canon R6 III

The S1ii destroys the R6iii in terms of latitude and dynamic range and it’s not even close. S1ii with dynamic range expansion off is already a little better than the r6iii (about 12 stops dr or 7-8 stops is latitude). Rolling shutter is about 13ms in 16:9 video and 15ms in open gate. With dynamic ra

Canon R6iii vs Sony a7v

r6iii/a7v are both defined by the sensor readout speeds, which are faster because of the partially-stacked sensors that both cameras have. pros generally want fully-stacked sensors, because the readout speeds are much faster, which means more actual af/ae measurements and calculations, aka better af
