What shutter speeds do you use for hummingbirds?
Just about nothing anybody said in the replies is true. The image below was shot with a Canon R6 II and EF 100-400L II. ISO 3200, 1/5000th, f/5.6, 400mm, using the electronic shutter. It obviously works. I've shot some as low as 1/500th. Below 1/3200th you're going to get into some wing blur, but th

Canon R6 II or Nikon Z6 III for portraits + travel
Here's a technical comparison https://www.rtings.com/camera/tools/compare/canon-eos-r6-mark-ii-vs-nikon-z-6iii/36079/51765?threshold=0.16 Photography wise they're both excellent and will come down to preference of what feels better in your hands and which UI you prefer If you have interest in video

Need personal camera recommendations
I would honestly prioritize versatility over a dedicated cinema camera. The school provides access to higher-end production gear, so having a reliable personal hybrid camera for projects outside of class is often more useful.A good full-frame mirrorless body that shoots both strong stills and video

Canon C80/C400 vs FX3/FX6
Shooting a basketball doc right now with the C400, C50, and the Komodo X sometimes. The C400 and C50 are magic together and I assume the c80 as well. The codecs are beefy, the image is instantly gorgeous, and the bodies are miles above the fx6/fx3 for flexibility. The canon cinema cameras let me sho

Switching to Lumix S1RII (or S1II) for professional photography?
I personally went with the s1ii and having come from a canon r6ii I find the AF performance quite similar in real-world use, and the canon r6ii is an AF beast so that's quite the praise for the s1ii. It handles candid shots of moving subjects extremely well even in low light it holds focus very impr

Anyone come from Canon?
I use Canon Mirrorless at work (R6ii) and shoot Nikon for myself for 10+ years. The canon is nice, for sure, better AF than the Mk 1 and 2 z6's, it can do 4k60 with almost no crop, very capable hybrid. Colors are pretty good, a bit cold overall. Lenses are nice, but the ecosystem is pretty locked of

Them to upgrade to full frame do I stay canon or go sony? (R6 ii vs a7 iii)
I switched from a73 to r6ii. A73 was revolutionary at the time, but its been a long time since and Canon has caught up and new tech is noticably better. Sure you get more lens selection, but IMO, once you get the gear you like, you dont really use a variety of lenses Id rather take better noise redu

Dance photos
I’m a professional theatre and Ballet shooter, my wide camera (24-70) has to stay at f/5.6 and as slow of a SS as needed to stop most of the motion so a minimum of 160. My iso lives on auto. My darkest plays can hit iso 25,600. On my 70-200 camera I’m allowed to shoot all the way down to f/2.8 and s

Canon eos r7 vs eos r6 mark 2
R6ii is like a full frame r7 (not exactly, but both are high-functioning devices vs say an r8). Both are good cameras. All things being equal I would go for the full frame and crop. R7 if you are serious about birding. Sony also makes good cameras. You won’t go wrong dropping $1,500 on a Canon or So

Receating Nolan's Odyssey look on X-T1
Yes. You make your Curves and HSL, then add them to you camera. For example, Canon has 3 Custom slots for you to use with JPEG profiles you create. I recreated Classic Chrome and Astia to add to my Canon R6II. Now I can shoot Fujifilm colors on full frame with great autofocus. Very simple.
