Should I switch Cameras before it's too late?
Be informed Not influenced. Saying point blank “Sonys are better than Canons” is fanboyism at best, stupidity at worst. Yes, of course an a6700 is better than an r50, because the corresponding model to an a6700 is an r7, not an r50. Compare an r50 against other entry models, a6000 and a6100, you mig

my first year of birding
currently using the canon r50 paried with the RF-800 F/11. as far as telephoto/mirrorless combos its pretty cheap and has given me amazing results. the RF 100-400 is also incredibly good as a budget telephoto lens

Have cameras gotten so expensive everywhere lately?
The Canon 750D was released in 2015 at a list price of €799. That would be over €1000 today. So that R50 is maybe evidence of MORE value for the money now than ever.

Testing out a telephoto lens from Salisbury Crags
I am just getting started so it’s a relatively cheap and accessible setup I got for safari. Canon R50 with the canon rf 100-400mm f/5.6-8 is usm. This was taken at 400mm. The crop sensor gives it extra reach so it’s 640 mm equivalent.

Is this a good camera to start out with?
At that price buy this: R50 kit. Modern, lighter, etc... you'll be much happier:https://www.usa.canon.com/shop/p/refurbished-eos-r50-rf-s18-45mm-f4-5-6-3-is-stm-lens-kit?color=Black&type=Refurbished

beginner friendly cam
Okay na okay yung A6400 for beginners, solid autofocus and image quality. If within 35k to 45k, pwede ka rin mag-check ng Sony ZV-E10 (same performance, mas video-friendly) or Canon R50 if gusto mo newer system. Mas important din yung lens, kahit kit lens muna then upgrade later.

Is it worth going with the EOS R50 over the EOS R100?
I would never really recommend buying a camera for the brand - sometimes, if you are already invested in a camera system (sometimes brands have multiple systems, sometimes systems have multiple brands, but often system and brand are one and the same). Canon is a good brand, but they aren't any bette

What next after M50?
Your frustration with Canon discontinuing the M series is understandable, especially considering the excellent balance of quality and portability it offered. The M6 Mark II would indeed be an upgrade for your 4K video needs, but since it’s hard to find, you’re at a crossroads where future-proofing b

Buying the r50
I originally bought the R50 + 18-45 kit lens. Definitely get the RF100-400mm. Great lens. Canon’s APS-C is a 1.6x crop so the lens will act as a 160-640mm which is generally considered plenty for birding, wildlife, plane spotting, sports, etc. I also bought the Sigma RF18-50mm f2.8 (1.6x is approx 2

Should I get this as a beginner?
This is someone else’s junk. Sold as a package deal with a bunch of accessories to make it look like a good deal but it’s mostly e-waste, like the vivitar manual flash and “conversion” screw on lenses that have no business on an interchangeable lens camera. Get this for $499 before it disappears: ht
