The Canon R5 is currently more affordable than the R6 mark iii at $2,599 by $200. I don't think the R5 mark ii is necessary. This is within your budget. For Canon it's IMO still the R6II, it does most of what the R5II does for (nowadays) half the price. The R6III came out in November but it improved almost only the video capabilities.
